What is a DOT physical for?
The DOT physical is a comprehensive physical that evaluates your health to ensure you can drive commercial motor vehicles safely.
What to bring to your appointment:
- Valid Drivers License
- Medical records
- List of medications to include dosage and frequency
- Any auditory or visual aids used while driving
- Your most current sleep study compliance report
Your physical includes:
Vision Test
General check for cataracts, glaucoma, or macular degeneration
Hearing Test
General hearing screening
Blood pressure, Heart, Lungs, and Throat Exam
Check vital signs and assess overall physical health
Neurological exam
This exam checks reflexes, dexterity, and balance
Blood Test
Checks for other medical conditions not visible or present during the physical exam
